“Growing up and living in a homosexual lifestyle, I already knew that God and I were not on the same terms. I wanted to live my life and get married to a girl I was currently dating, have kids, and then somewhere down the line let Jesus lead my life. But that all changed during the summer of 2015 and I began to get to know God.
Not many people who leave the homosexual lifestyle talk about what happens after you’ve had an encounter with Jesus. You stop living the way you used to and your heart is full of the love of Christ but God is still working in you in other areas. There were walls I put myself in from childhood along with holding a deep sense of rejection so I needed to learn who God says I am. I am learning how to be emotionally open and vulnerable, still letting go of people who were once close to me and the temptations to walk back towards my old ways.
Walking by God’s strength through faith is how anyone can continue to live following Jesus Christ. Even when you mess up and fall; you pick yourself back up and keep on walking towards Him. Don’t be discouraged. Do not fret.
Today I am understanding how to walk, talk, act, and even think like the woman God desires of me. This is all part of my daily journey with Jesus and I wouldn’t change a single thing.”
