Word from the Lord

OVERCOMING RESISTANCE IN PRAYER
If you’ve not been prayerful in the past and have made up your mind to grow and mature in your relationship with God this year and beyond, you’re bound to face blockages, warfare and difficulties which aim to stop you in your tracks.
Your body will revolt because being more prayerful will ‘rob’ it off food, sleep and other pleasures like worldly entertainment as you set aside more time to be alone with God.
You will experience resistance in your soul, for instance, some minutes or an hour into prayer, you will want to stop and get a cup of coffee, peek into your phone for messages or check what’s on TV. You’ll probably feel sleepy, bored or exasperated by a sense of ‘nothing is happening.’
The powers of darkness will see you shaking yourself to spiritual wakefulness and gather around in a bit to stop you quickly because they know what your prayerfulness will do to them.
Ergo, be aggressive! Fight for your prayer life! Be intentional! Refuse to cave in! Most of all, pray continually that our Helper, the Holy Spirit will awaken prayer in you, quicken you to continually commune with God and set your spirit on fire so that there will never again come a day when you are not prayerful.
I pray for you today. I plead the Blood of Jesus Christ over your spirit, soul and body. Let the fire of God come upon you! Let the Spirit of Prayer consume you! Be on a fire that cannot be put out! In the name of Jesus Christ. Receive grace upon grace to pursue the Kingdom of God more than ever before. In the name of Jesus Christ!
Luke 18:13-14: “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’ I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
Psalm 66:18: “If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.”
Psalm 34:15: “The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their cry.”
